A Year Worth Talking About
It's no secret that Louisiana Tech University is one of the top tier universities for academics in the nation. However, there's a new reason that many people have come to know the name. This season, the Men's Club Volleyball team has sored WELL past expectations since their first pre-season tournament back in November after losing the championship game for the Silver Bracket. Following the tough loss, the coaches knew that there was a lot of work to be done in order to be a strong competitor during the regular season.
The team started their year off with a home game win against ULL. A close game still raised some eyebrows, as A-team seemed to struggle to find solid connections on offense along with some spotty defense. Most spectators overlooked the point-for-point match by reassuring the team that "a win is a win." However, the coaches were satisfied with that answer. Colin is a senior from Belle Chasse, Louisiana and a 4th year member. After beginning his career as an Opposite Hitter, he now leads the team in assists as the starting setter for the Louisiana Tech A-Team with over 340 career assists. Colin helped lead the team to its first ever appearance at the Nationals Tournament in Kansas City, MO in 2023 and looks forward to another shot at the title.
Jacob is a senior from Bossier City, Louisiana and a 3rd year member. Last season, he led the B-team in kills for the season. Due to injury during the pre-season tournament, he will miss the majority of the 2024 season. However, we are hoping for a speedy recovery and hopeful return to the last conference tournament.
