This past weekend, the Bulldogs traveled to Fort Worth, Texas to play in their conference championship tournament. The weekend started on Saturday with final pool-play brackets and challenge matches. Their first oppenent (and unfortunate loss): UT-Arlington, a top 10 team in the conference. While they did take a loss to a tough opponenet, the Dogs didn't let that stop them as they fought back and swept St. Edwards Univeristy and the Univeristy of Texas at Dallas both in two sets each.
With these wins, the Dogs were set up for a rematch against UTSA - their only loss of the first conference tournament. The Dogs fought hard until the very end, challenging UTSA much more than their previous meeting. Louisiana Tech lost in two sets against the Roadrunners 21-25 and 21-25 again to end their run. However, there is much to be proud of from these guys, as they brought home the 2nd place title in their division. It's been a tough grind all year and it has well paid off. Sunday was a bittersweet day for the club's seniors as they left the court for one of their last times.
Not all is lost though; LA Tech competes in their last match of the season on April 12th at ULM against the Warhawks. The ULM Activity Center is allowing free admission to all spectators for the 7:00 P.M. game.
